The University engages in a variety of different types of collaborative provision. This includes the Hull York Medical School, programmes validated by the University, collaboration within Higher York, and collaboration with other universities in the UK and overseas.
Development of collaborative provision
If you are thinking of developing a programme in collaboration with another institution or organisation, please contact the Senior Assistant Registrar or your departmental QA contact in the ASO as soon as possible for advice (certainly before any committments, however informal, have been made) and read the University policy and procedures.
A Quick Guide for departments considering collaborations
- If you are in discussions with another institution(s) concerning a possible collaboration please contact the ASO for advice concerning the process of considering and approving such ventures.
- Do not agree to any future collaborations until approval has been given but please keep your proposed partner informed of the process.
- Do not sign any documents until approval has been given.
- Inform and seek advice from your contact in the Planning Office.
- Ensure you have the full support of your department before embarking on any collaboration.
The Hull York Medical School (HYMS) was set up in 2003 by the Universities of York and Hull in partnership with the NHS.
Validated programmes are delivered by the National Science Learning Centre and Dyslexia Action (validation running out).
Higher York is a partnership between Askham Bryan College, the University of York, York St John University, Craven College and the City of York Council.
The University is also a member of the Worldwide University Network (WUN).
