Academic progress

Students may have difficulties completing their course for many reasons

University and private sector accommodation issues are dealt with by the Accommodation Office and Student Welfare Advisers

Disability

Disabled students may be entitled to additional support in their learning

Emotional and psychological concerns

The Open Door Team can help with any aspect of student mental health

Equality, diversity and harassment

Students should be treated equally and should not be subjected to harassment

Faith and religion

The religious practices of students are supported on campus through the chaplaincy, prayer rooms, Quiet Place and various student societies

Finance

We offer advice on student funding, budgeting, debt and hardship funds

Health

Information on student health is focused on self-certification, communicable illnesses and the Health Centre

International and immigration

Particular issues faced by international students include 'culture shock' and immigration

Personal difficulties

It is important to strike the right balance when a student talks to you about their problems

Work, volunteering and career planning

Support for students of all years and disciplines on any career-related issues.
