Roles

• Manage the Department's use of the University Blackboard VLE (Yorkshare) and other learning technologies.
• Support Department staff and students including training and research of elearning and web 2.0 technologies.
• Develop resources and teach skills short-courses (e.g. information literacy, social media).
• Coordinate and implement online marketing.
• Develop content (HTML, images, PHP, etc) for use on websites and VLEs.
• Develop and support multimedia content, including audio/video editing and Camtasia screencasts.
• Assist in maintenance and development of the Online Masters (eMA) Moodle VLE.
• Advise on accessibility, copyright and use of technology for learning.
• Department Web Officer.
• Department Computing Officer.

I have been involved with the eMA team since 2004, and in my current role in the Department from Spring 2009.

My interests include online learning, approaches to learning and teaching, e-accessibility, researching new web technologies, intuitive user-centred design (usability) and web marketing.
