Entry is to the Postgraduate Certificate in the first instance, with participants progressing through Diploma and Masters upon successful completion of the previous stage. Applicants for short courses should apply by email to spsw-online@york.ac.uk.
The programmes start twice a year, every September and April.

The application should take about 30 minutes to complete.
Please note: You can elect to save your application at any time and come back to it at a later date, or simply submit it when completed. Only at the point at which you choose to submit, will we be able to view the application and make an admissions decision. Once you have submitted your application you will not be able to go back and make any changes, or upload any additional supporting documentation. However if you do need to send us additional paperwork this can be emailed directly to us at: spsw-online@york.ac.uk.
Once submitted your application will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee who may request additional information, a written piece and/or a Skype (or telephone) interview with you. We aim to let applicants know of an admissions decision within one month of receipt.

Further supporting documentation is not crucial to your application at this stage however it will speed up the applications process if you can upload your financial statement, IELT certificate and degree transcript (as necessary) rather than emailing them to us later.
To upload a document click Upload, then Browse then, when you have selected your document, click Upload again.
Supporting documents can be in any of the following formats: Word .doc, Acrobat .pdf, plain text .txt. Scanned documents can be provided as JPEG, PDF, or GIF files. Each document should be less than 1MB in size.

English language abilities
You will be asked to confirm whether English is your first language. If your first language is not English, but your first degree was taught in English, or you work in an English speaking role, then please use the space provided at the bottom of this page to tell us about this.
Education and employment history
References
You will need to provide two referees. Your referees will need to comment on your suitability for the programme, and also (if possible), comment on your capacity to cope with the academic demands of the course. Ideally one referee will be your line manager/employer.
Please include your referee email addresses here as this will allow us to send them an automated email so that they can upload a reference directly to your application. These emails will be sent immediately that you submit your application.

Payment of Fees
Please indicate if you will be self funding, employer funded (full), or employer funded (part). You will be asked to provide evidence of this support and it can be uploaded to section 3. This financial evidence can be a copy of your latest bank statement, or a letter from your sponsor.
