At a time of financial challenges for students and universities and questions over the public value of universities this symposium will allow time to reflect on these issues. In the current environment, can universities be enhanced as spaces that work for those in and beyond the campus?

Presentations on: The collective within and beyond the University, Public Higher Education and Democracy, The university that never was and What academics want, what the public wants, and what universities actually do.
