Professor Wang Xia, Deputy Director of the Dept of Education, Nanjing University and Member of China’s Vocational Curriculum Teaching and Learning Council discusses the motivations for her institution’s engagement in the centre.

In May 2008, the universities of Nanjing and York established a joint centre for enterprise and employability. The centre enables staff and student development, with the aim of equipping students with the skills and knowledge to be successful in a competitive global environment. It forms a major international locus for pedagogical research and practice in these vital fields.
