New ESRC-funded STS Doctoral Training network

Posted on 5 October 2012

The new STS-network has recruited four students who began their doctoral studies on 1 October

They are members of a new White Rose DTC network bringing together colleagues from York, Leeds and Sheffield. They are Roz Williams, Julia Swallow, Rob Meckin and Celso Gomez.  Rob and Celso have bioscience backgrounds, and both are looking at synthetic biology and translational issues. Roz is exploring the tissue economy and cord blood banking and will be attending the postgraduate training programme at the next Bio-objects network meeting in Madrid in late November, while Julia is working on diagnostics and dementia. More information about their research can be found in SATSU's 2012 annual review. The White Rose supervisory team is made up of Susan Molyneux Hodgson and Kate Reed (Sheffield), Greg Raddick and Anne Kerr (Leeds) and Nik Brown and Andrew Webster (SATSU, York).
