I graduated in psychology from UCL, and after an MA at Princeton, joined the MRC Applied Psychology Unit in Cambridge, where I completed a PhD. After several years on the scientific staff of the APU I moved to the University of Sussex in Experimental Psychology, then to a chair at Stirling University, before returning to the APU as Director. Some 21 years later I moved to Bristol University for 8 years before joining the York department in 2003.
My interests are in human memory, neuropsychology and in the practical application of cognitive psychology.
