Patients can show selective deficits of semantic working memory -
characterised by an inability to maintain semantic information, despite good
performance on delayed phonological judgement tasks. We have been pursuing
the hypothesis that these patients have mild executive deficits that disrupt
the retention of semantic material more than phonological information.
