The Qualitative Research Network aims to promote the development and utlization of best practice in qualitative social research within the University of York. It is open to all staff and graduate students in the university.
Welcome to our new website, which we hope will facilitate collaboration between qualitative researchers working at York. The website has four main functions:
- To help members publicise their own events, successful grant applications and recent publications. This should give an idea of the scope of our work and who is doing what.
- To highlight interesting papers, conferences and training opportunities. Links are available from this page.
- To enable members to ask questions and seek advice about the various aspects of doing qualitative research. You will see there is an option to mail a question to all members of the group.
- To develop collaborative ideas, potential papers and possible research.
- To bring together all those engaged in qualitative research, irrespective of their discipline.
We are happy to place items on the site, if you send them to us. We are especially keen, in the first instance, to publicise your news and your publications. We would encourage you to contact Julia Forsberg on julia.forsberg@york.ac.uk if you have material you would like to disseminate through the site or if you have ideas for future seminars. Much of the success of this website will, of course, depend on you sending us information.
Another important role of the group is to organise seminars two or three times a year.
What topics would you like covered? Would you like to convene a seminar?
You will also see that the website has more general links to members’ Departments and Units. We look forward to receiving your news.
