The Clarke Group Welcome
to the Clarke Group in the Department of Chemistry at the The
Clarke Group is based in the new Dorothy Hodgkin’s Building, at the
Department of Chemistry, University of York, UK. Research in the group concentrates
on the total synthesis of natural products, particularly those containing
tetrahydropyran units and those with polycyclic systems which may be
constructed by the use of novel transannulation reactions. Of key importance
in this area is the need to develop new, more efficient ways to synthesise
these important structural units and to control both the relative and
absolute stereochemistry generated in a chemical reaction. Please
use the links to find out more information about the group and its research
activities.
