of interest to the group are: Prebiotic genesis of carbohydrates. The pot, atom and step economic asymmetric
synthesis of highly functionalised tetrahydropyrans and piperidines. The total synthesis of natural products
including hexacyclinic acid, phorboxazole
B and pinguisanol. Reactivity and scope of nucleophile
generated enolates. Candidates should have a strong interest in
organic synthesis, and have a first degree of at least 2.1 classification
