MSc in Economic Evaluation for Health Technology Assessment The MSc in Economic Evaluation for Health Technology Assessment (HTA) aims to provide training in the theoretical and practical issues of relevance in economic evaluation for HTA and to bring the student up to the current research frontier. Students will be provided with the experience and skills necessary to contribute to pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research to a level consistent with peer-reviewed journal publication.
The modules are organised in a similar manner to the Postgraduate (PG) Certificate and PG Diploma programme in Health Economics, that is, each lasts for approximately 12 weeks and comprises five or six individual study 'units'. Modules are weighted at 20 'credits', where one credit equals approximately 10 hours of study time. In addition to the three compulsory modules for the PG Certificate and PG Diploma in Health Economics, students taking the MSc in Economic Evaluation for Health Technology Assessment take the following three modules Module 7: Assessing the Impact of Medical Technologies on Health Module 8: Outcome measurement & valuation Module 9: Decision Analysis for Health Technology Assessment How long does it take? Depending upon module selections, the MSc can be completed in a minimum of 36 months and a maximum of 60 months.
