SURVEILLANCE AND PRIVACY IN AN e-SOCIETY.

Recently held on the 10th April at the Novotel in London Excel, this event brought together for the first time all the main academic specialists in Security and Privacy issues to discuss and . Contributors to the recent Information Commissioners ‘Report on a Surveillance Society’, including David Lyon (Queens University, Canada) and Charles Raab (University of Edinburgh) participated along with representatives from the recent Royal Academy of Engineering report on ‘Dilemmas of Privacy and Surveillance’ including Nigel Gilbert (Chairman of the Academy’s Group on Privacy and Surveillance).

Papers were heard from a number of e-Society projects in addition to the above and the day finished on a high with a Q&A session from a panel of experts who included Nigel Gilbert, The Deputy Information Commissioner, a journalist from the Observer and David Lyon.
