First and second year strands

The five core strands studied in years one and two provide the essential foundations for a degree in psychology. The four content strands from Brain & Behaviour through to Social Personality & Abnormal Psychology are based around lectures and seminars and cover the different areas of the subject from complementary perspectives. The Research Methods in Psychology strand places an emphasis on practical skills for the scientific investigation of psychological phenomena. In addition to lectures, it incorporates practical sessions during which students run experiments and learn to carry out the appropriate statistical analyses.
