In Year 3, we offer a range of advanced modules each drawing on the research expertise and interests of our faculty - each student will follow a selection of four advanced modules (two in each of the Spring and Autumn terms).
The literature survey (preparatory meetings during the final weeks of the Summer Term of Year 2, and carried out in earnest during the Autumn Term of Year 3) offers the opportunity to develop an extended piece of writing on a clearly delineated topic of your choice, researching the scientific literature and exploring relevant theories and evaluating evidence. the Empirical project is the largest module of the degree course. Working under the guidance of your project supervisor you will conduct an original piece of psychological research drawing together the skills and knowledge you have developed in the preceding years. The project is carried out in the Spring and Summer Terms of Year 3, but preparations will begin much earlier.
