Postgraduate taught courses are usually funded directly by the student. However, some opportunities exist for motivated and high achieving students to apply for studentships or scholarships which can cover course fees and may include a partial or full student stipend.

The department will be offering at least one Masters studentship (covering home/EU fees) this year to a student on the Cognitive Neuroscience; Developmental Disroders or Research Methods masters courses. All applicants to these courses will be automatically considered as long as the application is received before May 25th 2012: no separate application is necessary. Studentships will be offered to the applicants with the strongest academic background and most relevant experience.
York Annual Fund scholarships
The Annual Fund is available to current undergraduate students or graduates from the University of York who are applicants for a one-year taught Masters. This provides a fee-waiver at the Home/EU rate and a partial studentship. Details of how to apply and deadlines for this award can be found on the Postgraduate funding website.
The Overseas Student Scholarship offers one third or one sixth reduction in tuition fees for successful overseas applicants. Scholarship-holders are expected to find the balance of the tuition fee and their living expenses from other sources. Applications should be made to the International Office. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need. Details of how to apply and deadlines for this award can be found on the International Students webpages.
