Your UCAS application will initially be received and dealt with by our central admissions team. Applications are carefully reviewed by the admissions staff based on the information provided on the form alone. The Department of Politics does not interview candidates unless they are mature applicants (over 21) , and any such invitations for interview are at the discretion of the Admissions Tutor. We aim to make an offer within days of receipt and consideration of the UCAS application, but decisions may take longer if we require further information or clarification from the applicant or from their current or previous education provider. During periods of peak demand we may also decide to hold a certain number of applications in order to be able to determine whether places may be available later in the application season. If you have queries about the progress of your application we would encourage you to check on UCAS track in the first instance, but if you still have questions then please contact poli-ug-admissions@york.ac.uk and we will respond to your enquiry as soon as we can.
