Alex is a contemporary political theorist. After attending the University of York for his BA in Politics and MA in Political Philosophy (The Idea of Toleration), Alex stayed to complete his doctoral thesis (under the supervision of Professor Sue Mendus) on "The Significance of Conceptions of Conflict in Contemporary Political Philosophy". Since then he has been a lecturer and teaching fellow in the department, and taught a range of courses including Contemporary Political Philosophy, The History of Political Thought, Introduction to Political Theory and Politics, Power and Society.
