Former PhD student wins prestigious award

Congratulations to Watcharabon Buddharaksa who has won an NRCT award for best thesis.

The Department of Politics are delighted to announce that former PhD student, Dr Watcharabon Buddharaksa, has won an award from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) for best thesis in Political Science. The NRCT Annual Awards are offered in 3 main categories within 12 major academic disciplines: best researcher, research and innovation and PhD thesis. The panel of fifteen leading political scientists in Thailand praised Watcharabon's thesis as 'very good'. Watcharabon's thesis was entitled 'The old is dying and the new cannot be born: Organic crisis, social forces, and the Thai State, 1997-2010' and was supervised by Professor Werner Bonefeld.
