What
to do if there is a serious accident, illness or injury
- In dire-emergency call 3-333
- Make the person comfortable (Do
NOT move the person if a fracture or spinal injury is suspected)
- Get First Aid help (trained
personnel)
- Ensure the injury or illness
and action taken is reported

Definitions
- ACCIDENT event resulting
in injury: must be reported.
- INCIDENT event resulting
in damage to University estate (see security/porters for separate Incident
Form)
- NEAR-MISS event which
could have been an accident or incident: should be reported.
- INJURY the harm as a
result of an accident.
- DISEASE illness or symptoms
caused by exposure at work to an agent/activity: should be reported.
- DANGEROUS OCCURRENCE
very serious near-miss: must be reported.
