Our undergraduates are encouraged to gain physics research experience during the summer vacation.

This year, a record number are joining our research groups in York, funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, The Nuffield Foundation, the British Council, the Department of Physics and directly by the research groups.

Some of our students also travel abroad and this year placements have been found at CERN and Hokkaido University in Japan. Below is a list of the students partaking in the Undergraduate Vacation Research Programme 2009:
