Researchers in the Department of Physics are using highly specialised equipment to study the properties of magnetic nanoclusters, tiny particles whose enhanced magnetic properties may benefit the magnetic recording industry as well as have applications in medicine. This research is being carried out in collaboration with the Department of Physics of Leicester University, the York JEOL Nanocentre and the York Institute for Materials Research.
