I completed my PhD at the University of York in 2021, which was kindly sponsored by the peer-reviewed academic journal Mind & Language. Having worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of York, a Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire, and a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, I am now an Associate Lecturer at the University of York.
My main research interests lie at the intersection of the philosophy of language and epistemology. I am particularly interested in how knowledge is communicated, especially the ways in which speech can function as a reason to believe, but also the ways in which this can be abused to lie and manipulate.
I am currently working on a collaborative project between the University of York, the University of Manchester, and the University of Hertfordshire which aims to show how metaphorical speech can be epistemically defective.
