CHiPhi members have interests across the full range of history of philosophy, which we have divided into four main periods: ancient and medieval philosophy, renaissance and early modern philosophy, late eighteenth and nineteenth century philosophy, and twentieth century philosophy. We have established a programme of regular workshops in each of these four areas, held in turn at one of the three White Rose Universities. The first was on early modern philosophy at our inception event, held at the University of York in November 2009. For details of our programme, see our page on events.
A Yorkshire Ancient Philosophy Network (YAPN) was established in 2009, which has since become a research group of CHiPhi. It organizes meetings once a term and is also responsible for the CHiPhi workshop on ancient philosophy.
We have an active community of postgraduates working in history of philosophy, and are keen to develop this further. See our page on postgraduate study.
We are also running a number of collaborative projects, involving researchers from White Rose Universities and other universities, both in the UK and outside, and further projects are being planned. For information on this, see our page on research projects.
