York Philosophy Society is the University of York's student run society for those interested in Philosophy. We host regular social events including weekly casual socials, reading groups, film evenings, guest speakers, society trips, and society meals and picnics. The society is open and welcoming to all students regardless of level of study or discipline of choice. Whether you are an undergraduate or postgraduate, or a student of the sciences, humanities, or beyond you are welcome to come along to any of our events. If you are shy, unsure, or just want to check out the society and the people in it come along to our weekly casual social, Philoscoffee.
Dialectic is the journal of the University of York Philosophy Society under the editorship of the Dialectic committee. The Dialectic committee is autonomous of the society committee and is currently chaired by third year undergraduate Sara Osborne. It is produced by University of York students for an undergraduate audience, but features essays by undergraduates, postgraduates and academics from various institutions in the UK and abroad. There are two issues each academic year; one in the first and third academic terms of the University of York.
