Graduation Celebrations and Sunshine!

Department celebrates on Degree Day ...

Thursday 12 July 2012 was a wonderful celebratory day here in the Philosophy Department as we congratulated graduands on their degree award successes.  The weather was especially kind to our students and their families - especially after a very unsettled week of Yorkshire weather!  After the ceremony, there was time for photographs and then graduands and their families were invited to a drinks reception hosted by the Head of Department, Professor Tom Stoneham and Philosophy staff.
 
Amongst our many successful degree candidates, Matt Hare, has been awarded a First Class (with distinction) in Philosophy.
 
In addition to our graduating students, the first and second year students have been awarded departmental prizes for their outstanding performances in Philosophy.  Joshua Atkins and Sara Bianchi Bazza in the first year, and James Laing in the second year were all awarded prizes for their 2011/12 performances - congratulations to all of you.
 
Warmest congratulations to ALL our graduating students from all the staff here in the Philosophy Department.  We wish you every continued success in the future.
