School of Philosophy, University of Leeds
Tuesday 31 March - Thursday 2 April 1998
This conference addressed some of the philosophical issues that arise concerning the interrelationships between philosophy and history. More specifically, as reflected in the meanings of the title, the aim of the conference was to explore, firstly, the ways that forms of thinking and writing have developed through time; secondly, how 'history' is to be conceptualized and articulated; and thirdly, the question as to what 'thinking historically' might mean, and its importance in the practices of philosophy, history and other disciplines.
