Background info on Green Impact programme that the University has signed up to.
University of York sustainability pages ~ starting point for University's official policy and actions on sustainability: provides "information on the wide range of activities that the University, departments and individuals are engaged in.
It will also up date staff and students on new initiatives and current issues" ~ long overdue update completed May 2012
University Action on Energy and Waste ~ current activities around energy generation and waste reduction, including plans to boost renewables and use of biomass fuel from local sustainable sources.
University Statement on Campus Development and sustainability ~ 2008 statement on sustainability developed in the context of the Heslington East development but stated as applicable across the University.
Now removed (May 2012).

York New City Beautiful ~ City of York Council commissioned report on
'Toward An Economic Vision'. Prepared by Prof. Alan Simpson and team of urban designers, transport and cultural experts etc.
Ideas and propositions in report 'will help York step up its game in terms of a focus on quality of place as a driver of economic competitiveness'.
Important document in terms of relationship between the City and the University (given e.g. Simpson's "great street" is such a central feature). (Links to other CYC sustainability-related documents also.)

York World without Walls ~ key partners across York committed to delivering long-term vision for York, including a sustainable city through York Environment Partnership. Launched first Sustainable Community Strategy for York in 2008.
