This award is made annually to an outstanding teacher of the Salters Horners Advanced Physics course. It is open to teachers who are using a wholly or predominantly SHAP approach to Edexcel AS/A-level physics specification and is a means of giving public recognition to teachers who are doing outstanding work with SHAP. Those proposed for the award in previous years have also told us how much it meant to them to be put forward by colleagues for consideration for the award, regardless of whether they were short-listed. The award is a prestigious one, raising the profile not only of the recipients but of the schools and colleges in which they work.
As you consider whether to nominate one of your SHAP teacher colleagues, or to submit your own application, you may like to consider the following questions.
If you can answer yes to some of these questions, then please consider proposing one of your physics teachers for the SHAP teachers’ award, or putting yourself forward for consideration.
For further information about the award please click here. For a list of previous recipients click here. Please click here for a proposal form in WORD format. Completed applications/nominations must be received by Friday 16 March 2012. If you have any questions about the award, please contact the SHAP project office in York.
