Phytohormones

Many compounds in plants influence developmental processes and enable rapid adaptation in response to changes in the external environment.  These compounds are collectively named as phytohormones and glycosylation is a crucial mechanism to regulate the levels of different phytohormones in plant cells and tissues.  All classical phytohormones, with the exception of ethylene, occur as glycosides in planta.  Glytech has used its enzyme collection to explore the glycosylation of phytohormones in vitro and has synthesized a number of phytohormone glucoside standards for analytical work.
