Overview
This technology is based in the Centre for Novel Agricultural Products (CNAP) at the University of York.
The technology platform of Glytech consists of:
- An enzyme library of glycosyltransferases (GTs) of small molecules that contains over 100 GT sequences from arabidopsis and rice as well as engineered variants. These can be readily screened to explore their catalytic activities – substrate recognition, regiospecificity and enantiospecificity.
- Microbial production systems for whole-cell biotransformation to produce glycosides of natural or non-natural scaffolds in gram quantities.
- Plant production systems that are designed to accumulate high levels of glycosides and other metabolites.
