Speaker: Dr Barry Lee, Department of Philospohy
De Lee's research interests are in metaphysics, the philosophy of logic and language and the philosophy of mind.
His current projects are on persistence, particularly the explication of the endurance/perdurance distinction. He is also working on co-location, particularly in the difficulties which arise for notions of substance which see substances in terms of their roles in the causal structure of the world, on the one hand, given that co-location would seem to make for a great deal of causal overdetermination. He is also working on time and tense, particularly the development of truth theories which assign tensed, as opposed to 'B-series' truth conditions to tensed sentences.
