Speaker: Dr Roland Kroeger, Department of Physics
The skeleton and shell formation in marine organisms cannot be understood without nanoscience and nanoscience has still a lot to learn from nature.
This lecture is the fifth in a series The nanoworld: Exploration and exploitation. This series of talks will focus on the world of nanoscience and explore how it enriches and stimulates technological innovation, why it is so important for the understanding of our natural environment and how it helps us to develop new technologies for an improved healthcare.
To supplement this series, there will be two opportunities to visit the York JEOL Nanocentre on 3 November and 8 December.
Location: Room P/L001, Physics
Admission: Admission is free and open to all
