Exploring the nanoworld

An introduction to the ultra-small world of nanoscience and nanotechnology, and the techniques and challenges in 'seeing' into this ultra-small world.

This lecture is the first in the series The nanoworld: Exploration and exploitation. This series of talks will focus on the world of nanoscience and explore how it enriches and stimulates technological innovation, why it is so important for the understanding of our natural environment and how it helps us to develop new technologies for an improved healthcare.

To supplement this series, there will be two opportunities to visit the York JEOL Nanocentre on 3 November and 8 December.
