The Centre for Modern Studies provides a venue for postgraduate students working in the modern period across the disciplines to explore connections among their research areas and develop postgraduate events and initiatives. 

Interdisciplinary MA in Culture and Thought after 1945 

From 2011/12, the Centre is offering a new interdisciplinary MA in Thought and Culture after 1945.  This offers a unique opportunity for interdisciplinary, taught postgraduate study of the intertwined intellectual, cultural and historical developments of the contemporary period.

Research degrees

The Centre does not yet run its own MA by Research, MPhil or PhD, but students registered from those degrees in participating departments are encouraged to play an active role in the Centre’s seminars and conferences.
