New Staff

The CMS welcomes two new lecturers this academic year:  Dr Henry Bainton, and Dr Michele Campopiano who have both joined the Department of English & Related Studies.

Dr Bainton's  research focuses on the Latin and French literature of the High Middle Ages, and on historical writing in particular. He is especially interested in the interface between literary culture and documentary culture, and in the role of performance across a wide range of textual practices.

Dr Campopiano's interests include: editing of medieval Latin texts, medieval historiography and geography, cultures and literatures of medieval Italy, Franciscan cultural traditions and relationships between Europe and the Middle East in the Middle Ages.
