International Students

We are keen to receive applications from international students for our undergraduate degree programmes and to welcome them to the School community.  Our international students arrive in York from countries across the globe and with enormously diverse backgrounds.  This diversity enriches the School as students share their experiences and different understandings of the world.  Our staff are similarly diverse in their backgrounds.  At present approximately one-third of our undergraduate students come from outside the United Kingdom.

We want to support our international students as much as possible and make sure that the transition to studying at The York Management School is successful.  For example, international students in the School can access a range of free English language-related courses that cover areas such as academic writing and speaking skills.

The University also has an International Office that can provide specialised assistance on important topics such as visas and immigration, travelling to York, living in the UK and accommodation.  Special induction events take place at the start of each academic year to ensure international students feel part of the School, the University and the wider community in York.
