This programme provides students with a thorough grounding in core management subjects. It draws knowledge and skills together from a range of disciplines used by practicing managers, underpinned by rigorous theoretical insights and contemporary research. The knowledge element answers the question of ‘What do you need to know in order to perform well as a manager?’ It also considers questions such as ‘How does the practice of management reflect and shape our society?’
In the final year of the degree students can choose to specialise in studying specific areas of management. The options you select may be based on your own interests or to link to future career paths you have identified.
The skills element ensures that our students have the full range of employability skills to be able to become successful managers in all types of organisation, or to pursue further postgraduate study.
The degree can be studied as a three year degree programme or with an additional year in industry.
Year 1 is a core year common to all our degree programmes
In year three a choice of pathways is available. You choose to study two of these pathways according to your own interests and career aspirations. Indicative pathways are:
Human Resource Management Pathway
Organisational Behaviour Pathway
Management & Strategy Pathway
Dissertation Pathway
The modules above represent examples of what you can expect to learn in years 1, 2 and 3. We regularly update our course and therefore module descriptions are subject to change.
