As part of our commitment to developing excellence in doctoral research we offer a range of training programmes and opportunities. These start from day one with a bespoke Induction Programme and a dedicated PhD module on Research Methods for Management (spring term). As a member of The York Management School you will also have open access to all Masters modules offered by the School.
As a member of the Northern Advanced Research Training Initiative we also afford access to advanced research methodology training from across the region, as well as entrance to the NARTI Doctoral Conference where students have the opportunity to meet doctoral students from other schools in the region, present their work in a supportive environment, get advice on how to manage their PhD, and get advice from leading academics on managing their research career. As a member of The York Management School these events are free.
For international students whose first language is not English, dedicated support is available from the Centre for English Language Teaching (CELT). More generally, the Graduate Training Unit offers a range of courses designed to promote professional development during and beyond the period of your study.
All this is in addition to the dedicated support from your supervisory team, access to the School seminar series, and the chance to shine as a contributor to The York Management School Doctoral Conference.
