Research

Shafiq’s main research interests are in the areas of Total Quality Management, performance management and manufacturing systems. His PhD research is about the design and development of a performance model based on TQM approach for manufacturing industries of Pakistan.

Title of Research Topic: Design and Development of a model for the implementation of TQM approach in the manufacturing industries focus on textile industry.

Profile

Shafiq has been working in leading manufacturing industries of Pakistan for about three years. He is IRCA (UK) certified Auditor of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001). He is also certified Auditor of Food Safety System (HACCP). During his industrial experience he has been involved in the designing and implementation of EMS , QMS, HACCP, Statistical Process Control, 5S, Kaizen and Quality Circles.

He is the Executive Member of National Council for Quality and Technology , Pakistan , Member of Pakistan Engineering Council and Institute of Chemical Engineers Pakistan .

He has been involved in teaching and research at University of the Punjab, Lahore , Pakistan , the largest and the oldest university in South Asia , as a Lecturer since December, 2003 to May 2007

Award

He has been awarded scholarship for his PhD degree program by the Government of Pakistan
