Research

Sara’s main research interests are in the areas of healthcare management, performance management and measurement and their link with management control systems. Her PhD research is about performance management in hospitals.

Title of Research Topic: Patient safety management - the role of networks.

Profile

Sara completed her undergraduate degree in Management, at Faculty of Economics, University of Porto in July 2001. After this course she worked in the management control department of a public hospital and from September 2002 to December 2006 as an accountant in a weaving company. In 2003/2006 Sara undertook her MSc in management – specialization in accounting at Faculty of Economics, University of Porto .
