Eligibility
The course will be listed with a cap of 16 students in each class, with selection of candidates made on immediacy of need (for level 1) and degree of familiarity with complexity theory (for level 2 only). The final course size will be in the 16 - 18 range. The course will be open to the following in order of preference:
Level 1- PhD students who wish to use complexity theory to analyse their field work, when working with complex social systems
- MSc students and other researchers who wish to understand and use the theories
- All researchers who wish to train in the use to use complexity theory and associated modelling techniques
- Researchers from industry who will find the course of particular relevance in addressing real-world problems
- Experienced researchers who are familiar with concepts of complexity theory
- Attendees who have successfully completed Level 1 of training
- Researchers from industry who will are currently using aspects of complexity theory in addressing real-world problems
Application Procedure
The completed Level 1 application must reach The York Management School by Friday, 1st May . Accomodation is guaranteed for everyone accepted into the School. In case of acceptance, applicants will be sent confirmation of their place in the Summer School as well as of their accomodation booking.
