The following information shows you how to get to The York Management School. This also includes travelling via different modes of transport, whether by train, bus, air, taxi or car.
The University campus is based in the south-east of York:

There are more maps available on the links below, please print the pdf versions, rather than the web page: this is designed to fit correctly onto a standard A4 page.

York is on the main East Coast Line from London King's Cross to Edinburgh. Fast trains leave from both north and south at frequent intervals. There is also a direct service across the Pennines between York, Leeds and Manchester Airport. The University is two miles from the railway station and you will need to get a bus or taxi onto campus, see below for details.
An online rail timetable is available to help you to plan your journey.
The University and Pullman buses operate a Unibus number 44 service between the University (including Heslington East and West campuses) and York railway station. In term time these operate every 10 minutes, and approximately every 15 minutes out of term time. The 44 bus runs along Lakeside Way (shown on the bottom of the map above), and there is a stop between Theatre, Film and Television and Computer Science buildings. You can find timetables on the Pullman website.
A frequent (every 8 minutes during the day) bus service (number 4) operates between York railway station and the University, and stops at the car park of the Heslington East campus. There is a shuttle bus approximately every 10min between Heslington West and Heslington East campus. By bus or bike the journey takes about 15 minutes from the city centre of York. Timetables for the First York bus company are available on-line.
The nearest international airports are Leeds-Bradford airport and Manchester airport. There is a direct rail link between York and Manchester airport. See By Bus or By Taxi to get to the Heslington East campus.
Taxis are always waiting outside the station - the journey takes about 15 minutes and costs in the region of £4 – £5. Some local taxi firms are:
Ace Taxis +44 1904 638888
Bee-Line Taxis +44 1904 797777
Ebor Taxis +44 1904 641441

The University of York is easily accessible by car from the A64 section of the outer ring road, via the A1079 or the A19. The city is at the junction of the A19, A59, A64 and A1079 trunk roads. The University is well signposted from the Outer Ring Road, which comprises the A64 and A1237. Our new building is located on the new Heslington East campus.
Car drivers are advised to avoid the city centre, as most of the roads within the city walls are pedestrianised during daylight hours every day (normally 10am-4.30pm).
As the Heslington East campus has only recently been completed the building addresses may not show up on SatNavs. If you use the postcode YO10 5JL you will be directed to Field Lane, the campus is easily navigable from this road.
Short stay (30 minutes) parking bays are available on Deramore Lane.
Disabled parking bays are available on Freboys Lane and Deramore Lane.
Parking is extremely limited on Heslington East. We advise visitors to park in the pay and display car parks on Heslington West and use the free shuttle service between the two sites, UB1 (leaves from Car Park South), and Unibus (leaves from the Library and Science Park bus stops). The No 4 First Bus service also goes to Heslington East via University Road and Field Lane.
