- 2001 Research Assessment Exercise - from the HERO site, pulling together all site and documents
- Research and Innovation Office, University of York - responsible for: liaison between the University and industry and commerce; negotiation of contractual conditions relating to research, consultancy; provision of information on sources of research funds; and technology transfer and licensing of research results.
- Federally-Funded Research in the U.S. - a series of databases that provide information about research funded by the Federal Government. The databases contain the names and addresses of Principal Investigators, grant titles and abstracts.
- HERO - Higher Education and Research Opportunities in the UK. HERO is the official gateway site to the UK's universities, colleges and research organisations. Includes:
- Universities and Colleges Admissions Service Statistics - data collected from the application form completed by each university and college applicant. This site contains annual datasets, downloadable in spreadsheet or Pivot Table format, which provides student applicant data by subject of study, institution, age, region/county of domicile, entry qualifications, ethnic origin, and social class. Other datasets include management statistics, operational statistics, clearing statistics and applications digest. This site also contains a glossary containing variable definitions; an FAQ; a publication schedule for regular UCAS summary data. NB: UCAS charge for custom-built data not on the website.

- AGOCG: Advisory Group on Computer Graphics - Advises UK Higher Education on Computer Graphics, Visualization and Multimedia. AGOCG is an initiative of the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) of the Higher Education Funding Councils and the Research Councils.
- Association of University Administrators

- CHEST - aims to obtain quality commercial software and datasets for the UK Higher Education and Research Community at low prices and attractive licence terms.
- CRE: the Association of European Universities - a non-governmental organization with today more than 500 members throughout the continent. Its main objective is to promote cooperation among the universities in Europe.
- HE Academy - an independent organisation funded by grants from the four UK funding bodies, subscriptions from higher education institutions, and grant and contract income for specific initiatives. Based at York.
- HEAnet's National Information Server - provides a focal point for the Irish education and research communities, linking users to a wide range of services on the Internet
- HESA - Higher Education Statistics Agency
- Higher Education Staff Development Agency: HESDA - HESDA is dedicated to supporting the professional development of all staff employed by universities and colleges.
- Higher Education Resource Hub - The goal of this evolving website is to provide a comprehensive collection of information resources in the field of higher education throughout the world.
- JISC - Funded by the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council, the Higher Education Funding Council for England and the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, the mission of the JISC is 'To stimulate and enable the cost effective exploitation of information systems and to provide a high quality national network infrastructure for the UK higher education and research councils communities'.
- Joint Funding Councils of the UK - The principal task of the Councils is to distribute funds made available by their respective Secretaries of State for the provision of education and the undertaking of research by higher education institutions in England, Scotland and Wales. They are also required to assess the quality of that provision. Some of the tasks are undertaken as joint initiatives.
- Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education
- UCISA - Universities and Colleges Information Systems Association.
- UK GRAD Programme - Previously known as the Research Councils Graduate Schools Programme. "Our aim is to support students, supervisors, universities, and employers to realise the value of postgraduate talent."
- UKERNA - the JANET Information Server. Includes a list of UK Janet sites and servers.
- UKOLN - United Kingdom Organisation for Library Networking
- Universities UK - Used to be known as CVCP. Universities UK is a Company limited by guarantee with charitable status. It was founded in 1918. It is supported through subscription by its members' institutions.

- Deliberations on teaching and learning in higher education - a magazine for Academics, Librarians and Educational Developers. The magazine will provide a forum for readers to discuss and develop ideas, and identify resources that will aid their work.
- ESCalate - this partnership includes the universities of Bristol, St Martin's College, Lancaster and Stirling. "Together we produce and disseminate resources for staff and students in Higher Education and Further Education involved in Education Studies, Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning and Initial Teacher Education."
- Information Technology Training Initiative - In 1991 the University Funding Councils funded a 3m pound initiative over a three year period (ITTI) to improve the availability of training materials for the use of IT in UK Higher Education Institutions.
- Key Skills Front Door - information, links, and materials produced by The Key Skills in Higher Education Dissemination Project.
- TILT - The University of Glasgow's TILT, Teaching with Independent Learning Technologies, is one of a few TLTP projects that are funded to show how teaching and learning can be made more productive and efficient throughout a single Higher Education Institution. TILT, which runs for three years until December 1995, aims to demonstrate how to use Information Technology effectively in teaching methods, especially to support more independent learning.
- TLTP WWW server - contains information about the Teaching and Learning Technology Programme and extracts from Newsletters and information releases. It also provides a central access point for information servers provided by other projects within TLTP and related areas.
