University study spaces

In addition to Library study spaces, there are a variety of other places to study across the University's campuses.

IT Services maintains a number of IT rooms across the University. To find out where they are,  please look at IT classrooms and study areas.

There are many teaching/seminar rooms that can be used for group study when not in use for teaching. To request a room for use, please contact the Timetabling Office via the Student Booking Form.

Group and single studies in the Library can be booked online in advance, through the Library Catalogue.  Further information on study space in the Library and Archives, including the Harry Fairhurst building, can be found on the Library's Studying page.

New Building Student Study Centre, Heslington Village

Monday - Sunday:  08.00 - 18.00

The building is wireless-enabled, and furnished with study tables and chairs for around 130 people. Space is available for individual study as well as workspace for small groups. A common room area has been provided with informal seating and vending machines for drinks and snacks.

In addition to the Atrium, there are:

  • 2 study decks on the first floor, with networked PCs
  • 3 study pods available for group sizes between 8-18. The pods are bookable through the Hub reception when not in use.
