Research Hotel

The research hotel in the Harry Fairhurst Building is a suite of bookable rooms that visiting academic staff or researchers can reserve for their exclusive use as temporary areas for working. It is located on the second floor of the building.

Booking a room in the research hotel

Rooms in the research hotel can be booked by e-mailing the Library Administration team (infodir-lib-admin@york.ac.uk) with the following details:

  • Your name and contact details
  • The reason for your stay (e.g. why you're visiting the University, what your research entails)
  • When you would like the room
  • How long you would like to book the room for

We cannot guarantee space as rooms in the research hotel are limited, though we will do our utmost to allocate rooms to those that request them.

Costs

Booking a room in the research hotel is free of charge. Charges may be made for some telephone calls beyond "fair usage" (such as international calls) and also for printing, for which a card top-up service is available using the York Print Plus system.
