A 24 hour loan period has been introduced from Summer 2011. Items, identified with a red 24 HR LOAN label, may be borrowed for 24 hours from the time of issue. It is anticipated the new loan will address the need for a loan that is longer than the 4 hour loan of Key Texts, but not as long as a one-week loan.
All 24 Hour loans are clearly identified on the Library Catalogue. Look under the Collection heading on the Holdings screen for the item. 24 Hour loans are available from both the JB Morrell and King's Manor Libraries.
24 Hour loans are shelved according to their shelf-location in the main collections of the library and can be identified with a red 24 HR LOAN label on the spine.
Items are borrowable for 24 hours, e.g. if the item is issued at 10:17am on day 1, it will be due back at 10:17am on day 2. You should always check the due date and time on the receipt produced when borrowing an item. If you have a question or a problem please ask Lending Services staff for help.
Please return all 24 Hour loans which you have borrowed as soon as you have finished with them so that they are available for someone else to borrow. Please remember that you are responsible for returning items on time, courtesy notices are not issued on 24 Hour loans. If you return items late a fine will be charged.
24 Hour loans should be returned direct to the home library, e.g. if the item was borrowed from the JB Morrell Library you will need to return it there. It is not possible to use the intersite service to return 24 Hour loans.
It is not possible to renew 24 Hour loans.
It is not possible to book or request 24 Hour loans.
