The Library Committee provides a forum for open discussion of matters relating to the Library and its services. It is a sub-committee of the Information Committee.
Normally the Committee meets once a term. Its membership is made up of the Director, and Deputy Director, of Information, all the departmental library representatives, plus postgraduate and undergraduate student representatives.
This is an opportunity for you to share in policy-making decisions and to make suggestions for improvements in service provision. Minutes go to Information Committee and Senate.
Library Committee meets on the Wednesday afternoon in week 5 of each term. Lunch is available from 1pm and the meeting begins at 1:30pm.
Our next meeting will be on:
Minutes from meetings prior to 2006 are available on request to the Secretary.
According to the Committee's terms of reference, membership of Library Committee is one member from each academic department, being the Chair of each department's Library Committee, plus a representative from each of the following: IT Services and the Alcuin Research Resources Centre. The committee also includes three undergraduate representatives nominated by the Students' Union (one by convention being the Educational Campaigns officer), and one graduate representative nominated by the Graduate Student's Association.
Departmental Library representatives are members of the Library Committee.
