Profile

Biography

Raffaele joined the Department of Language and Linguistic Science in 2014 and coordinates the Italian Language Degree Programme. After graduating in Philosophy from the Università degli Studi of Milan and in French and Spanish from the University of Sheffield, he completed his doctoral thesis in French Literature at the University of Sheffield, focusing on the immigration of the Russian Jews to France. He has taught Italian, French and Spanish since 2007 primarily at the University of Sheffield in a variety of courses and programmes. Alongside teaching, Raffaele has worked as a professional translator, specializing in the translation and adaptation of TV scripts for dubbing and has taught translation at postgraduate level.
